About Me

Here I am – in a nutshell:

I know how to draw pretty pictures, and I’m a holy yid – That’s why I’m working to give my best to the world of Jewish media. I think the values of the Torah are the most beautiful out there by far, and the media that portrays those values should match, by being the most engaging and compelling media around!

I’d love to see an ecosystem of world-building, character-conception, story-telling, and art-direction that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of quality, aesthetics, and depth, wholly focused on teaching and strengthening Torah Values. I hope I’m zocheh to be a part of that!

That said…

My name is Dov-Ber Cohen. I studied Illustration in Canada, before moving to Israel. That’s where I live now with my amazing wife and four crazy boys!

I’ve been working as an illustrator since 2017, for children’s books, magazines and comics.

I put a big focus on visual story-telling, I’m a big believer in “show don’t tell”

I usually come into projects after the story and dialogue have been written, and my job is to provide the visuals to help tell that story.

I want to become involved in the process much earlier on – during the concept stage, and have input into the writing. I think that an author and illustrator working in tandem can be much more effective that when they work independently of each other. Like parallel vs. serial loops, if you get me.
